Ray J earned a measure of redemption with a three-round victory over Orlando Brown at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Ray J returned to the win column during Zeus Fight Night at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, defeating actor Orlando Brown by unanimous decision in their three-round celebrity boxing match.
The judges scored the fight 30-26, 29-27 and 29-27 in Ray J’s favor. The victory earned the singer, actor and entrepreneur the Zeus Championship following an entertaining matchup broadcast live on Zeus Network.
The fight arrived after weeks of tension between the two entertainers. During a promotional appearance, Brown struck Ray J in the face with a stack of money as the two exchanged insults. Their confrontation helped build anticipation for one of the night’s most unpredictable matchups.
Brown made his entrance accompanied by his young daughter and brought a positive tone to the arena by walking out to the gospel song “I Know I’ve Been Changed.”
Ray J followed with a large entourage that included his sister, Grammy-winning singer Brandy. The lengthy entrance immediately raised the energy inside State Farm Arena as fans attempted to capture the siblings making their way toward the ring.
Once the fight began, Ray J used his reach to keep Brown at a distance. He landed quick punches during the opening round and sent Brown to the floor, giving him an early advantage on the judges’ scorecards.
Brown continued fighting after the knockdown and attempted to close the distance between them. He frequently moved forward and threw wide punches, but Ray J’s movement made it difficult for him to connect consistently.
The intensity increased during the second round as both men began throwing more freely. Brown became more aggressive and forced several exchanges, while Ray J continued relying on his longer reach and quick left hand to maintain control.
Neither fighter was able to end the match early, sending the celebrity bout into its third and final round.
Fatigue became more noticeable during the closing minutes, but both men continued competing until the final bell. Brown searched for a punch that could shift the fight in his favor, while Ray J remained patient and avoided giving up the advantage he had established in the opening round.
The victory carried added significance for Ray J following his knockout loss to entertainer Supa Hot Fire in May. The Zeus Fight Night appearance offered him an opportunity to recover from that defeat and produce a different result in front of his family and supporters.
Brown provided plenty of entertainment and remained active throughout the fight, but Ray J’s early knockdown, reach and cleaner punches ultimately separated the two on the scorecards.
When the official decision was announced, all three judges declared Ray J the winner. Both entertainers completed the fight safely, and Ray J left State Farm Arena with his redemption and the Zeus Championship.
